Welcome to Pre-School at Park Hill Primary School! This year we have moved so that we have two separate classes which are called Acorns and Oaks. Our Acorns class is for 2-3 year olds and Oaks is for 3-4 year olds. We share a large outdoor area which we will often use together. Come and check out our new Quarry area with diggers or make some Gruffalo crumble in our Mud Kitchen!

Pre-School is such an important stage (we think the most important stage!) for children to learn personal, social, emotional and communication skills which will then enable them to develop early reading, writing and mathematical skills. Physical development is also very important within Pre-School. There will be lots of opportunities for them to strengthen their writing muscles, including ‘Funky Fingers’, ‘Dough Disco’ and ‘Write Dance’. We use a variety of teacher led and child initiated activities to enable pupils to develop a love of learning through exploration and creativity – all of which happen through a play based approach.

We use the indoor and outdoor environments to access the 7 areas of learning throughout the day, whatever the weather! Our aim is to help the children to become passionate and enthusiastic learners and equip them with skills that they will build upon throughout their school lives. Pre-School really is the best place to be! Please excuse any mud or paint on their clothes – it is just a sign of how much learning they have done!
